(You can watch a video excerpt from this article below.)

[STEP 1]
Start practicing with an 8 iron first.

All of NOOG's ONE LENGTH irons, from 4 to 9, are made to match the length of an 8 -iron. Therefore, when switching from regular irons, the 8-iron is the one that feels the least uncomfortable .

Therefore, we recommend that you practice hitting the 8 iron repeatedly during your first practice session to get used to the feel of the NOOG carbon shaft and forged soft iron when hitting and swinging .

We often receive the following comments and feedback from our customers:

" NOOG irons have a different feel to other irons , so they feel great when you hit them. "

" The sound I hear the moment I hit the ball and the feel it gives me in my hands automatically give me feedback, and I gradually started to be able to naturally tell which swings were good and which were bad."

First, get a feel for the NOOG feel by practicing with the 8 iron.

[STEP 2]
Once you get used to the 8 iron, move on to the 6, 7 and 9 irons

Once you have a feel for the 8 iron, start practicing the 6, 7 and 9 irons.

The 6, 7 and 9 irons are close to the 8 iron, so there is little difference in length compared to conventional irons and you should be able to hit them relatively comfortably.

The key is to imagine it as an extension of the 8-iron, and hit it in one consistent swing while maintaining the same swing, address, and ball position as with an 8-iron.

With ONE LENGTH irons, the difference between each number is not in the length, but in the loft angle. Even when you move to the 6, 7, or 9 irons, the club length is the same as the 8 iron, but you'll have fun checking out the slight changes in distance and trajectory.

【STEP 3】
Practice your 4 and 5 long irons and PW

Once you get used to the 6-7 and 9 irons, try practicing the long irons (4 and 5 irons) and the PW (pitching wedge).

Especially when you first set up a 4 or 5 iron, if you think of it as a "long iron," the shaft length and loft angle may feel strange.

So, tell yourself, "This is an 8 iron," and try swinging with the same swing feeling and ball position as an 8 iron . If you swing with the mindset of "it's the same as an 8 iron," you'll be able to hit the ball without any discomfort, as you won't have any preconceived notions like "I can't hit the ball with a long iron, I'm not good at it."

Similarly, if you think of swinging the PW as "the same as an 8 iron," you will probably find that you can get used to it surprisingly smoothly.

[Customer feedback regarding long irons]

"When I first started using the ONE Length irons, even though I was trying to use the same address and swing for every shot, there were times when I just couldn't hit the ball with the 4th and 5th irons."

"At that time, I started to think of the 5-iron as an 8-iron and hit it like that, and I was able to hit it well. Looking back, I think that at first, I was unconsciously thinking that because it was a long iron, I had to change my swing and address ."

Things to keep in mind when practicing

Things to keep in mind when practicing with NOOG One Length Irons

(1) Utilizing the feedback of the soft iron forging
(2) Understanding the distance of each club and creating a “distance ladder”

There are two types:

(1) Utilizing the feedback of the soft iron forging

NOOG's One Length Irons are made from forged soft iron, so it's easy to tell from the feel and sound of the impact whether your swing is good or bad, making it easy to implement the PDCA cycle during practice .

When you hit the ball exactly on the center, it feels good, sounds good, and flies straight, so it's easy to realize that it's a good hit. However, when you hit the ball off the center, it feels and sounds bad (for better or worse), and it's hard to hit it straight.

As you practice, pay close attention to the sound of the ball hitting the ground and the feeling it gives you in your hands, and use this information to fine-tune your swing. Try to get a feel for it by imagining that the club is automatically giving you feedback with every swing .

(2) Understanding the distance of each club and creating a “distance ladder”

The greatest appeal of One Length Irons is that you can hit the ball at distances of 120 to 180 yards with just one swing and address .

Standardize your swing and address for all clubs, check the average distance for each club, and get a good grasp of your own ``steps'' in distance for each club.

If you can hit the ball between 120 and 180 yards with the same swing, your course management skills will expand dramatically.

Common points to note when starting to use One Length Irons and how to deal with them

I sometimes hear from people who have just started using NOOG One Length irons.

(1) The PW (pitching wedge) flies a little too far
(2) There is only a small difference in the distance between the 4-iron and 5-iron (the 4-iron doesn't fly as far as I thought it would).

There is something called.

(1) The PW (pitching wedge) flies too far

We have had some customers tell us that their PW flies further than they expected.

Basically, it would be best to be able to create a range of distances for all clubs using the same swing and address, but if the ball just keeps flying too far, the following are some possible solutions.

・Try holding the grip one finger shorter ・Try slowing down your swing speed just a little

(2) It is not possible to create a distance staircase between the 4-iron and 5-iron.

In contrast to the PW flying too far, there were a few people who found that their 4-iron did not fly as far as they expected, and they were only able to create a small difference in distance between it and their 5-iron.

Here too, it would be best if you could create a distance step of about 10 yards with the 5 iron using the same swing and address, but for those who find this difficult, we recommend that you simply accept this and use the 4 iron effectively by actively using it when there is a headwind .

The 4 iron has the smallest and steepest loft, allowing you to hit the ball with a low trajectory that is less affected by the wind.

One way to think of it is not that "a steeper loft = a club that flies farther," but rather that it is a club that can hit "lower balls" with the same swing.

summary

When the NOOG One Length irons arrive...

  1. First, get used to the feel of the NOOG irons with the 8 iron.

  2. Once you get used to it, expand to 6-7 iron, 9 iron, then 4-5 iron, and PW.

  3. By utilizing the PDCA cycle and valuing feedback from the feel and sound of forged soft iron, we can create our own flight distance.

Start practicing with the steps above.

While the first ONE LENGTH iron feels fresh and new, it may take some time to get used to it. However, once you experience the benefit of being able to hit multiple distances with the same swing , the scope of your play will be greatly expanded.

We hope you will enjoy a stable swing and the ideal golf life with NOOG ONE Length Irons. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at any time.
